2010 Training

Wilderness SAR Team hold trainings on the 2nd Sunday and 4th Wednesday of each month.

April 2010 Training Dates

April 11, 2010 - 09:00 @ NAVAC - This will be a work detail to get Gator and Squad 2 ready for Race Season. PM of Gator and ATR, in addition to restocking of fluids, ICS forms, runner forms, and batteries for SQ2.

April 28, 2010 - 19:00 @ NAVAC - This will be a class on Fire Starting techniques and survival gear. Please bring your gear. Instructor Salter

May 2010 Training Dates

May 8, 2010 - 08:00 @ NAVAC - This is our first FLRC standby of the year. Units will leave NAVAC at 08:00 to head to the race location.

May 26, 2010 - 19:00 @ TBA - GPS Navigation. This will be in Geocache fashion with a SAR twist. Instructor Lambie

2010 Search and Rescue Conference Calendar 

April

The Shephard Group SAR 2010          Scotland          April 21 – 22

The focus of this conference is on air, maritime, mountain and urban SAR and aims to bring SAR experts together from throughout Europe

VASARCO          Virginia, USA          April 22 - 25

Early bird registration until March 31. New program: SAR Kids Track. As well as Lost Person Behavior with Robert Koester.

Pennsylvania SAR-EX           April 29 – May 2

ESCAPE 2010          New Mexico, USA          April 30 – May 2

Robert Koester is the keynote speaker and will conduct a Lost Person Behavior class.

National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR/USA)         May 13 - 15

NASAR’s annual conference will be held in Tunica, Mississippi.  A preconference workshop on Lost Person Behavior with Robert Koester will be offered May 11 & 12.  

 Arkansas Search and Rescue Conference          Arkansas, USA          May 21 – 23

This is the first Arkansas Search and Rescue Conference. Robert Koester will be the keynote speaker and will conduct a LPB class

Lost Person Behavior Train the Trainer          August 9 - 13

dbS Productions is offering its annual train the trainer workshop in Lost Person Behavior August 9 - 13 at the Blue Ridge School near Charlottesville, VA. This workshop will prepare participants to present all or parts of a two-day Lost Person Behavior course. It will include participation in an actual two-day LPB course, a day in the field, and in-depth instruction on course contents. Course details and registration information are at www.dbs-sar.com.

This is Iceland ’s international conference organized by ICE-SAR and held every two years. It is sure to be a fascinating collection of presenters, attendees, lectures and excursions. A unique opportunity to learn about new techniques in SAR and exciting international humanitarian projects.
