Bear Bait Radio Club : public information News Release 03/03/2010

Ham radio and Amateur Radio operators enjoy the most powerful wireless communications capability available to any citizen anywhere in the world.

To take advantage of this capability a radio class is offered in April 2010, on the 17th and 18th.   The Saturday and Sunday class will get you ready for the 35 question licensing test to be given at end of class Sunday. " Test is not mandatory" but required if you want a license. Class hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm at the Brewerton Fire Station on Rt 11, Brewerton, NY.  A prerequisite to the class is for you to aquire the ARRL study guide for technician FCC class licensed operator and read the first three chaptors.  This can be ordered on line at WWW.ARRL.org or from a local book store. Book title is," ARRL Ham Radio License Manual " Level 1 - technician" .

Your cost is your time and 24.95 for the book and a 15.00 dollar charge for the test fee. The power point class is free. To reserve a seat and any further questions call the class administraior at 315 - 622-1046 or 315-247-8525.  Welcome to amateur radio.
